Real Sociedad are set to become the first team in Spain to allow their players to return to training since the suspension of their league due to the coronavirus outbreak. Real Sociedad have given series of precautionary measures that will be used as they plan to resume to training which comes up on Tuesday.
According to them they said players will be allowed to train but they will train in reduced groups, and the medical staff will be present as well to oversee the training. Real Sociedad said their players will be allowed to train with a maximum of two or three players at a time, and the training will start after they are tested of the coronavirus.
La Liga has been under suspension since the beginning of March and the league president Javier Tebas has said the might not resume anytime soon, he said the league is likely to resume in May which is the earliest date he can give. Spain has been in lockdown since March 14, on Saturday Spain recorded its lowest number of deaths in 19 days, this suggests that there is a progress and so the league could resume anytime soon.
While the formal lockdown is likely to continue until May, some restrictions will be lifted on Monday. In Germany, all Bundesliga clubs have returned to training last week but have been mostly operating in “small groups”. The English Premier League chief Executive is also proposing that the EPL resumes as well. The coronavirus outbreak has affected the summer transfer window which is supposed to
