Spanish La Liga defending champions Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has tested positive for coronavirus. The information was made known by the club as they announced the return of their head coach Zinedine Zidane who returned to work after recovering from Covid-19.

Real Madrid president Perez received the diagnosis on the day that Zidane took his first session at the club’s Valdebebas training ground since testing positive for the virus.
The club released a statement saying: “Real Madrid Liga defending champions would like to inform that our president Florentino Perez has tested positive in the COVID-19 tests that he periodically undergoes, although he is not showing any symptoms.”
The 73-year-old Real Madrid president has been the president of the club on two different occasions. The first was from 2000 to 2006 and then again from 2009 till date.
His stay recorded one of the most successful seasons Real Madrid has ever had, the club won four Champions League titles from 2014 to 2018, three of those won consecutively under Zidane.
