Real Madrid has suspended all sporting activities in their town this is a response to infected basketball player to tested positive to coronavirus. The Real Madrid player shares the same training facilities with the Spanish giant and so it becomes wise to take the measure they have taken like the Italians has done, shouting down all sporting activities in the country.
Real Madrid will be traveling to England to play Manchester City in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday next week. With the Spanish club has closed the facilities of its sports city, they will have to look for another training place to train ahead of the game which ended in favor of Manchester City.
A recommendation has been made to quarantine both the first team basketballers and the football first team players too. Since the both sports teams uses the same facilities it is only wise they quarantine them all.
The Spanish second division side has also been suspended and La Liga said it will “revaluate” the situation following the completion of quarantine “in the affected clubs and other possible situations that may arise”.
Real Madrid is currently in second position in La Liga table, they were supposed to host Eibar on Friday and had already canceled all pre-match media duties. The coronavirus outbreak, now declared a pandemic, has led to widespread disruption of sporting activities in the world.
In Italy, all sport is suspended, including Serie A until 3 April, with the country in lockdown. Juventus and Italy centre-back Daniele Rugani has tested positive to the virus although he says he is “fine.”
Two Europa League last-16 first-leg fixtures scheduled for Thursday have been postponed and a number will be played behind closed doors, including Manchester United’s trip to LASK.
