Raheem Sterling Still Hopeful for City Glory
England and former Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling says Manchester City have not played to their “usual standards” and so urges the team to return to winning ways. They played out a goalless draw in the Manchester derby on Saturday.
Manchester City sits in the ninth-place position in the English Premier League table with 19 points from 11 games. They are six points behind Liverpool and Tottenham who are joint leaders.
According to Raheem Sterling, he said: “The end goal is to get through this period.” “We need to keep fighting, we’ll get there in the end.” By this time last season City 25 points and had also scored 34 goals.

This season has not been very nice for Pep Guardiola’s men, they have only managed to score 17 goals. Raheem Sterling also said: “We haven’t been up to our usual standards and that’s another reason we haven’t scored enough goals.”
“I’m confident in the next couple of games we’ll start firing back and I can get those numbers back up too. Sometimes you win games 1-0 and it feels like you’ve lost, that’s how unusual it is for us to win 1-0.”
Manchester City will be playing West Brom who are struggling with relegation, the game could be the perfect game to use as a come-back to winning ways as they are not informed and City will be playing at home.
