Rafa Benitez wanted by Everton

Farhad Moshiri, Everton’s major shareholder, has spoken to Nuno’s representatives, but agreeing with the financial package with him and the coaching entourage he wants to bring is proving problematic. Because of this, the club is considering other options, and Refa Benitez is their best option.

Everton also had eyes for former Manchester United manager David Moyes, who managed them for 11 years before leaving in 2013, but Moyes says he has a good relationship with West Ham, and it is doubtful for him to leave the club whether they would agree to an approach for the Scot.

The other managers in line for the job are Christophe Galtier, who led French top side Lille to the French title, Brighton’s Graham Potter, and Roberto Martinez, who had three years at Everton from 2013 to 2016.
