Victor Osimhen may reject the specie offer of joining Serie A giants Napoli in the summer due to racism in Italy, reports have it that there is high racial discrimination in Italy, this is according to reports from the Serial A side which has earlier stated the interest of the club on the player. According to reports, the Super Eagles striker was racially abused in during his spell with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg. Omnisports claim the 21-year-old is bothered about the hostile nature he would face if he joins the top Italian club, despite their keen interest.
The 21-year-old is a subject of interest from Napoli who are determined to sign him from Ligue 1 club Lille this summer. Osimhen had to endure difficult times at the Volkswagen Arena, making just 12 league appearances during his two-year spell with Wolfsburg. It is understood the Lille star struggled with injury problems and loneliness while in Germany and does not want to experience the same in Italy in the name of racism.
The likes of Blaise Matuidi of Juventus and Kalidou Koulibaly have suffered the effect of racism in the league, they suffered racial abuses from fans this season and Osimhen does not want to be at the receiving end. Osimhen has been linked with a number of top clubs in England and Spain but would have to wait for the right offer. He has scored 18 goals and recorded six assists in 31 appearances across all competitions for Ligue 1 side Lille last season.
