The price of onions has crashed from N30,000 per 100kg to N10,000 in Katsina, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
It was reported that a market survey conducted, showed that in Katsina 3 months back, a bag of onions 100kg was sold at N30,000 by now is sold at N10,000.
Contacted, the state Chairman of Vegetable Sellers Association, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed attributed the development to the availability of the commodity in the area.
Mohammed disclosed that local farmers in the state had started harvesting their onions in the month of March, 2019 which they cultivated in large quantity.
He said that there was too much in supply of which forced the price down.
