Paul Pogba’s strike Sends United to the Top of EPL Table
Manchester United and France international Paul Pogba scored a second-half volley to ensure United go top of the 2020/21 English Premier League table. The goal was enough to give Manchester United victory at Burnley and send them three points clear at the top of the Premier League.
United dominated a contest in which Burnley failed to register a single shot on target until the end of the game. United was struggling to make a breakthrough until Marcus Rashford picked Paul Pogba out with an excellent cross to the edge of the area.

The World Cup winner’s connection was perfect, although it took a deflection off Matthew Lowton to ensure the ball went past Nick Pope and into the Burnley net.
Burnley had three clear chances in a frantic ending but they blew them away and United secured the win to head the table after 17 rounds of matches.
This is the first time Manchester United is recording such an interesting away win since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2012/13.
It is their ninth win in 11 Premier League games. On his return from a three-match ban, Edinson Cavani wasted two excellent chances and Bruno Fernandes fired a first-half effort straight at Nick Pope.
Anthony Martial also had two of his chance wasted as they were off target with two first-half chances before failing to convert in the final seconds after he had been sent clean through.
None of this matters now for Paul Pogba has won the game for his side. United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said in an interview that nobody remembers what the table looks like in January, Pogba’s strike has earned Manchester United three points.
