Patrick Vieira Sacked as Nice Manager
Patrick Vieira of Arsenal and France who was appointed manager of French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice have sacked. The ex-France Arsenal and France international was appointed manager of Nice in 2018, he has been with them for two and a half years now. He was sacked due to the pressure mounted on after a run of five straight defeats in all competitions.

He lost a Europa League game yesterday, the French club lost 3-2 to German side Bayer Leverkusen which confirmed their exit from the Europa League, and are 11th in Ligue 1. That was the climax of his managerial career with the club as he has been sacked this afternoon. The former Arsenal and Manchester City player also managed MLS side New York City before joining the French Ligue 1 side.
The 44-year-old, whose contract was due to expire at the end of the season, had come in for increasing criticism over a downturn in results amid accusations the team lacked a discernible style of play. The World Cup winner was appointed in 2018 to replace Borussia Dortmund-bound Lucien Favre and led Nice to seventh in 2018-19 and fifth last season as they qualified for the Europa League group stages.
