Nigerian legend, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, has been appointed to join other football legends as they make the 2022 Fifa draws on Friday. He is to be among the ex-players that will be drawn as assistants for the FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar later this year. FIFA disclosed this in a post via their website on Wednesday.
Austin Okocha bags FIFA Appointment
Okocha will join Germany’s Lothar Matthaüs, Brazil’s legendary defender Cafu, Algeria’s Rabah Madjer, Australia’s Tim Cahill, Qatari’s Adel Ahmed Mal Allah, and Iran’s Ali Daei. They will be joined by the coach of the Super Eagles at the 1998 World Cup, Bora Milutinovic.
The 2022 World Cup draw will take place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre in the Qatari capital city on Friday. The conducting team for the draw has been listed as; Carli Lloyd, Samantha Johnson, and Jermaine Jenas.
For Austin Jay Jay Okocha who played for Paris Saint-German, Bolton Wanderers, and many other clubs across Europe he will be honored to be in the event. Formerly thy hair used Ivory Coast star Didier Drogba but just maybe following the failure of the Super Eagles to make it to Qatar after their 1-1 with Ghana it could be a way to compensate the country.
