German Bundesliga side Union Berlin returned to the top of the Bundesliga after beating Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1. The winner came in the 97th-minute minute of the game after they were playing 1-1 till the 90th minute of the game.
Union Berlin Tackles Bayern Munich for Bundesliga Title
Gladbach led when Nico Elvedi headed in Lars Stindl’s corner but Kevin Behrens levelled with a header for Union Berlin, who then had a late Christopher Trimmel goal disallowed by the video assistant referee. After the goal was disallowed, a few minutes later Danilho Doekhi powered in a header from Jamie Leweling’s cross to send his side top.
The German Bundesliga leaders who were second after Bayern Munich won their game on Saturday reclaimed their top-place position. The side has never won any major trophy, but they look strong and ready to battle the current holders of the German Bundesliga Bayern Munich to win the league this season.
