Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has distance itself from the news making the rounds that it promised to facilitate COVID-19 relief package for Nigerians.
The agency, who denied the news via a tweet on its Twitter handle described the report as fake as it also advised Nigerians to disregard the message.
According to the tweet, the mandate of NCDC is to support states in responding to infectious disease outbreaks across the country.

Before the agency’s clarification on Twitter, there was a claim that the Federal government had directed Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN through the NCDC to release some amount of money to Nigerians with valid BVN and ATM card.
