Nampalys Mendy Pens Down New Contract with Leicester City
Leicester City midfielder Nampalys Mendy has signed a two-year contract extension until the summer of 2022. The 28-year-old Leicester City joined Leicester from Nice in two years ago (2016) before rejoining the Ligue 1 side on loan for the 2017-18 season.
The Frenchman had been out of contract in June but signed a short-term extension to cover the end of the restarted Premier League season. Speaking about Mendy Leicester City boss Brenda Rodgers said: “The more I’ve seen of him, the more impressed I’ve been.” The manager also said: “To have someone with his experience, quality and maturity is a big boost for us, especially with European football next season.”
So far, Nampalys Mendy has made 29 appearances for the English Premier League side in all competition but, Leicester City failed to book their place in the Uefa Champions League after losing to Manchester United in the last game of the season but fortunate enough to get to make it to the Europa so the Frenchman will be playing the 2020/21 Europa League with the Foxes.
