Manchester United is close to agreeing on a contract with a new manager for the club. According to reports, they are set to name Marc Skinner as their new manager. Skinner left Orlando Pride and is currently a free agent, so the club hopes to sign him as the new head coach for the Manchester United women team.

The 38-year-old former Birmingham City head coach stepped down from the American club with “immediate effect” on Friday. Man Utd released a statement saying they are pursuing “a coaching opportunity outside of the National Women’s Soccer League”.
Earlier this week, Manchester United agreed to personal terms with Skinner to replace Casey Stoney, who resigned last season. The search for Stoney’s replacement has been extensive and has lasted more than two months.
United will host Reading in their 2021-22 Women’s Super League fixture on 3-5 September. Elsewhere in the men’s team, the head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has signed a new contract with the club.
