According to reports, both United and Man City are prepared to put together a massive contract to persuade the 27-year-old of his next destination. Harry Kane would be offered £300,000 a week on a five-year deal, which would be an improvement of £70,000 from his current team Tottenham.

Manchester United is looking to bring in an attacker who can fill in the shows of Edinson Cavani, who is already getting old, while City is looking for a perfect replacement for Sergio Aguero, who is leaving City in the summer. According to Spurs management, they said Kane would cost £150million, and he still has three years left in his contract with the club.

After a disappointing draw with relegated Fulham, Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked if he will still sign a striker with the level of improvement Cavani has shown so far. He said: “I can’t say we’re not signing a striker.”

The manager also said they are trying to build a better squad, and that will be fully accomplished next season, hopefully. Pep Guardiola, on the other hand, did not say anything about his shocking loss to Brighton.
