Premier League giants Manchester United and Manchester City are currently battling to land Tottenham and England striker Harry Kane. Both teams are willing to pay the player the sum of £300,000 per week in basic salary.
Harry Kane sent a shocking message to his boyhood club Tottenham telling them he wants to leave the club this summer. As he prepares to leave, both Manchester United and Manchester City have emerged as the favourites clubs the player is likely to sign for.
Manchester City and Manchester United Line up £300,000 for Harry Kane
According to reports, both United and Man City are prepared to put together a massive contract to persuade the 27-year-old of his next destination. Harry Kane would be offered £300,000 a week on a five-year deal, which would be an improvement of £70,000 from his current team Tottenham.
Manchester United is looking to bring in an attacker who can fill in the shows of Edinson Cavani, who is already getting old, while City is looking for a perfect replacement for Sergio Aguero, who is leaving City in the summer. According to Spurs management, they said Kane would cost £150million, and he still has three years left in his contract with the club.
After a disappointing draw with relegated Fulham, Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked if he will still sign a striker with the level of improvement Cavani has shown so far. He said: “I can’t say we’re not signing a striker.”
The manager also said they are trying to build a better squad, and that will be fully accomplished next season, hopefully. Pep Guardiola, on the other hand, did not say anything about his shocking loss to Brighton.
