Liverpool to sign Greece International Kostas Tsimikas
Liverpool is in talks with Greece left-back Kostas Tsimikas, they are interested in signing the 24-year-old defender for a fee of 13m euros (£11.7m) from Olympiakos. The English Premier League champions turned their attention to the 24-year-old after their £11.7m for Norwich’s Jamal Lewis was rejected.
It is understood they were prepared to go to £12m for Lewis but the Canaries wanted significantly more. Liverpool is doing everything possible to sure a player who can fit into the space of Scotland captain Andy Robertson in case the player sustains an injury.
The Greece international played for Olympiakos in a 1-0 defeat by Wolves in the second leg of their last-16 Europa League tie last week as his side went out 2-1 on aggregate. Kostas Tsimikas also played for them in their six Champions League group games earlier in the campaign as they finished third behind Bayern Munich and Tottenham.
After Olympiakos dropped down into the Europa League, he put in an impressive performance as his side won 2-1 at Arsenal and knocked the Gunners out of the competition at the last-32 stage. The player is not the only player Liverpool is looking at they are also looking to sign Real Madrid 23-year-old left-back Sergio Reguilon.
