Liverpool broke a record last after coming from behind to beat David Moyes side West Ham United 3-2. The Reds now equal the English top-flight record of 18 successive wins, which Manchester City set from August to December in 2017. Liverpool has only dropped point this season to one team in the English Premier League which is Manchester United.
Jurgen Klopp and his troops are surely in their best season at the moment. They are eying the English Premier League trophy which they have not won for 30 years plus now. They have lost just times in all competition this season. They lose to Napoli and Athletic Madrid in the Champions League and also lost Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.
Liverpool remains the most consistent team in Europe presently. Last night’s game showed how resilient they are. They took the lead from the first nine minutes of the game when Georginio Wijnaldum headed in a square play. Issa Diop was there to leveled the scores before the second half of the game. West Ham became the first English Premier League side to score Liverpool with a set-piece.
David Moyes troops took the lead nine minutes in to the second half of the game as substitute Pablo Fornals scored from another set piece. Liverpool fought hard and were able to restore their unbeaten run as Mohammed Salah’s shot was wrongly dealt with by Fabianski to level the scores.
With just nine minutes to go Africans Player of the Year Saido Mane turned in Trent Alexander-Arnold lofted the ball over Fabianski to restore their victory. Liverpool has now gone 28 matches unbeaten with just four more games to decide seal their title hope. They will be playing Watford in the weekend, before playing Bournemouth and later Everton and then finally Crystal Palace.
Should Liverpool beat all four teams they will become the second to go unbeaten in the English Premier League of which only Arsenal has done. Liverpool have restored their 22-point lead at the top and the Hammers are left in the relegation zone.
