Kagara Abduction: Buhari Issues Directive

President Muhammadu Buhari has dispatched the Armed Forces and Police to Niger State to rescue students and Teachers abducted from the Government Science School, Kagara.

According to Bashir Ahmad, the Personal Assistant to President Buhari on New Media, the team was charged to coordinate the rescue operation, meet with state officials, community leaders, parents, and school staff.

Meanwhile, the Senate has condemned the attack on the Government Science School, Kagara. The Senate urged President Buhari to declare a State of Emergency on insecurity in Nigeria.

During its Wednesday plenary, the Senate also urged the President to consider and implement the Senate Ad-hoc Committee’s recommendations on Nigeria’s security challenges.

Kagara Abduction had reported that several students were kidnapped while a student has also been reportedly killed when armed bandits stormed Government Science College School Kagara in Rafi local government area.

Sources revealed that the attackers gained entrance into the school around 2:00 am on Wednesday.

Though the number of the persons abducted has not been ascertained, but a government source who pleaded anonymity has confirmed the attack.
