Juventus beat Malmo to finish above defending Chelsea and advance to the Champions League last 16 as Group H winners. Ex-Everton striker Moise Kean scored the only goal in the game. He headed the winner from a great cross from the right-wing by Federico Bernardeschi, using his left boot.
Juventus Win Malmo to Top Chelsea in Group H
Malmo offered little as an attacking threat and finished bottom of the group. Juve looked to finish second, but Chelsea conceded a late goal in their 3-3 draw at Zenith St Petersburg to send the Italians through as group winners. On the other hand, Chelsea would have taken the top spot if they had finished level on points with the Old Lady side.
Chelsea was held to a 3-3 draw by Zenith after they felt they had already won the game in the very last minute of the game Magomed Ozdoev scored a 94th-minute equaliser for Zenit in Russia when the game was 3-2 in favour of Chelsea. The goal levelled the scores, handed Juventus the top spot, and sparked scenes of celebration at the Allianz Stadium.
They will avoid Manchester City, Liverpool, Ajax, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and whoever wins Group G in the next round in February. The draw for the last 16 takes place at Uefa’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, on Monday at 11:00 GMT. This was a routine victory for the Italians, struggling this season for form.
