Jota and Firmino Scores One each to Ensure Liverpool go Joint Top with Spurs
Liverpool new signing Diego Jota and Brazilian star player Roberto Firmino score one each to ensure Liverpool’s unbeaten run to 64 games. The players blended well in the attack as Mohamed Salah is out with coronavirus. They are now joint-top of the Premier League table with the 3-0 comfortable win over Leicester City at Anfield.
The first goal of the night was an own goal from former Manchester United defender Johny Evans. Young Portugues forward Diogo Jota and Firmino’s goals made it worst for the visitors as the game ended 3-0. Liverpool has not lost a game at Anfield for some time now, they are currently on a 64 match unbeaten run.
Sadio Mane had his shot saved by Kasper Schmeichel and several follow-ups could not get the ball into the back of the net. Four minutes before half time Diego Jota headed in Andrew Robertson’s cross.
Liverpool are now level on points with Tottenham on the Premier League table with 20 points from nine matches but Spurs have a better goal-difference. Chelsea and Leicester City also share the same points in second and third positions respectively with 18 points.
