Joshua King Completes Everton Move
Joshua King’s contract was due to expire at the end of the 2020-21 season. Manchester United earlier made interest for the player before signing Nigerian international Odion Ighalo.
Fulham and West Ham United also showed interest in the forward but King opted to play for Everton who has paid a nominal fee. The deal is believed to be a six-month contract with an option to extend it at the end of the campaign.
In 2016-17 Bournemouth finished ninth in the Premier League which was their highest position and King scored 16 Premier League goals and were a key part of that successful season.
Last season he scored six Premier League goals but Bournemouth was relegated to the Championship. They are currently in the sixth place position in the Championship this season.
King has however not scored in his last 12 league games although he scored three times in the FA Cup. Bournemouth made a late buy for Republic of Ireland forward Shane Long on loan from Southampton, with the Saints signing Liverpool’s 26-years-old Takumi Minamino on till the end of the season.
