Super Eagles of Nigeria playmaker John Ogu has come out to defend the Super Eagles style of play under head coach Gernot Rohr. According to the player he said the most important thing is that they are winning and so the playing style dose not really matter as far as they come out with the three points.

The Eagles’ pattern of play under Rohr has been heavily criticized by football fans especially the ones in Nigeria. Despite the criticism, the Eagles have managed to win their games and also win a trophy.

And engaging fans on his Twitter handle, John Ogu called for support ahead of Tuesday’s crucial tie against Cape Verde. According to him, he said: “A lot be tagging me asking for the @NGSuperEagles to play that whole beautiful football to win games . Listen y’all, beautiful football don’t win games this days.
The player also said: “Winning games is the real deal . Y’all support the team and the Manager. Big game coming on Tuesday before playoff.”
John Ogu concluded by urging Super supporters to pray and support the team to win against Cape Verde. The player’s reaction is because of the way they played against Liberia even though the Super Eagles won 2-0 the was not entertaining.
