Barcelona president Joan Laporta has talked of bringing back Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi to Barcelona. This is coming after the arrival of Xavi Hernandez as the new head coach and Dani Alves back to the club.
Joan Laporta wants Messi and Iniesta Back in Barca
After being re-elected as the club’s president earlier this year, Laporta has arguably been handed the most challenging job in football. The Barcelona president had debts of more than a billion pounds and had no choice but to let Messi leave to join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer after the Argentine’s contract expired.
After the arrival of 38-year-old defender Dani Alves and Xavi Hernandez as their new manager, Laporta wants to get the band back together. According to him, he said: “I don’t rule anything out.” “It happened with Dani. Age is a number. They’re two great players.”
Joan Laporta also said: “I can’t predict what will happen tomorrow; they’re still playing & contracted to other clubs. You never know.” Injuries have blighted Messi since joining PSG, and as such, he has only made five appearances in Ligue 1.
It would be recalled that Messi discussed the possibility of him returning to the club but in an off-field role; with this now, there is the possibility of the players coming back to the club.
