Nigeria and Monaco loanee Henry Onyekuru is keen to remain with Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray amid interest from Greek giants Olympiacos. Reports have it that the Greece side is looking to land the player but he prefers his present club Galatasaray. The Nigeria international rejoined Galatasaray on loan in January after failing to secure regular playing time at the French Ligue One side AS Monaco.
Henry Onyekuru was linked up with Monaco from Everton last summer, he made only four league appearances for the English Premier League side before the move to AS Monaco before he was loaned to Galatasaray. Olympiacos are looking to sign him on loan this summer with a purchase option inserted in the deal.
22-year-old Henry Onyekuru is however not interested in the transfer and is determined to remain in Turkey with Galatasaray. According to him, he said: “I wanted to stay in Galatasaray last year, but my club Everton sold me to Monaco. I almost never played in Monaco,” “I do not want to experience the same frustration again.”
Henry Onyekuru has so far scored one goal in seven league appearances for Galatasaray this season before the lock-down due to coronavirus.
