Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has revealed that he is still in charge of the Super Eagle team, contrary to reports that he has been sacked by the Nigerian Football Federation NFF. The German tactician said that the Nigeria Football Federation NFF wants him to quit the team after the Super Eagles lacklustre display in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw against Cape Verde in their final Group C World Cup qualifier in Lagos.
Gernot Rohr Not Yet Sacked by NFF
The three-time African champions finished top of Group C with 13 points awaiting a play-off feature, but there were widespread calls for the sack of the coach after the game. It was reported that the Super Eagles style and pattern of play has dropped, and it is no longer interesting to watch.

Nigerian has failed to make progress in the Fifa ranking since November last year due to poor play. It was reported today that the 68-year-old coach had been relieved of his job in the wake of the Super Eagles performance against Cape Verde.
But Gernot Rohr has come out now to say he was asked to resign, and he refused, so he is still the head coach of the Super Eagles. A correspondent contacted Rohr and asked if the NFF had sacked him, he replied, “Not yet, but that’s what they want me to do.”
