Napoli head coach Gennaro Gattuso has come out to speak on Nigerian international Victor Osimhen, who suffered an injury in their Sunday’s Serie A clash against Atalanta.
Osimhen was knocked unconscious during the game’s final minutes in Napoli’s 4-2 away loss to Atalanta last Sunday. He was stretchered off the pitch and rushed to the hospital after hitting his head on the ground.
He is currently receiving treatment. Napoli announced on Tuesday that the Nigerian would rest for some days before he will return to training.
Gennaro Gattuso’s Comment on Victor Osimhen’s injury
Napoli head coach Gennaro Gattuso was asked if the player will be returning in their next game, but the manager said: “With Benevento? It’s not up to us. He’s had a head injury, he’s blacked out, and he’s up to Federation protocol on things like that, not our doctor.”
Gennaro Gattuso also said he is not sure the 22-year-old will be available on Sunday in the Italian Serie A. Victor Osimhen has scored just two goals in his ten league appearances for the Blues this season.
