The first trailer for Game of Thrones’ eighth and final season is finally here, just weeks before its April 14th premiere. It’s enough to get me excited about the show, despite my misgivings after a lackluster Season 7.
However disappointing last season may have been, it’s now been well over a year since it aired, and this remains one of my all-time favorite TV shows. I’ll be sad when it’s over—in just six measly episodes.
The roughly two-minute preview of the new season of Game of Thrones opened with Arya Stark breathing heavy in darkness, speaking of the oncoming threat from the White Walkers and the army of the dead.
“I know death. He’s got many faces,” Arya, played by Maisie Williams, says in the trailer. “I’m looking forward to seeing this one.”
The dark teaser — both literally and figuratively — offers glimpses of several major characters on the show, including Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) preparing battle at the Stark’s stronghold.
The trailer has already been viewed 21 million times and counting on Youtube. I’m definitely as excited as you for the season premier.
