Super Eagles number one man Francis Uzoho has come out to defend his age, stating the mystery behind his looks and his age, the Nigerian goalkeeper’s face is way older than his age. Francis Uzoho revealed that his looks are as a result of too much training, according to him he said his looks changed as a result of the kind of training and the amount of time he spent on training.
The 21-year-old who looks over 30 has come under intense criticism in recent times from a section of the fans who believe he lied about his original age. Francis Uzoho is currently playing with Omonia Nicosia of Cyprus stated that those speaking ill about his age and career don’t know him when he was growing up, he revealed he had always had a small stature.
According to Francis Uzoho, he said: “I was smallish back then in 2013 when I participated at the World Cup with the U-17 national team,” “I later went to Aspire academy where I learnt a lot. My looks and body build changed when I started using the gym and was working out seriously.” “If a lot of people see my picture back then they won’t even talk about my age, but I don’t really bother because they don’t know me.”
Uzoho was the Super Eagles first-choice goalkeeper at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, where the three-time African champions were eliminated at the group stage. The goalkeeper has made 14 caps for Nigeria, and also a member of the team that won bronze in the just concluded Afon which was held in Egypt which was led by head coach Gernat Rhor.
