EPL to Resume Soon as Negative cases Increase
The English Premier League (EPL) is set to resume after this week’s test of both players and staff came out all negative. There were no positive results from the total 1,195 tests conducted on the Premier League players and staffs.
The test was the sixth round of twice-weekly screening of players and club staffs which took place on the 4th and 5th of June respectively. One person tested positive in the previous round, and 13 in total from 6,274 tests since they began. With this recent development, The English Premier League (EPL) is very much ready to kick start the league.
The English Premier League (EPL) was suspended since 13th of March but with the help of health workers and the Project Restart program, the league is set to resume behind closed doors. The date for resumption set is 17th of June with Aston Villa hosting Sheffield United at 18:00 BST, while Manchester city host Arsenal in the Ethihad Stadium by 20:15
Liverpool is topping the league with 25 points clear ahead of Manchester City who is in the second place position, and are favourite to lift the EPL trophy after 30 years without the English Premier League title. Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Norwich City are in the relegation zone, the league reaming a total of 92 games to complete the 2019/20 season.
