The English Premier League might end up canceling pre-season games after the COVID 19 virus is eliminated from England. With the elite football in England been suspended until at least 30th of April because coronavirus football activities have been grossly affected. English (FA) Football Association has agreed that the 2019-20 season can be “extended indefinitely”.
According to 32-year-old Chelsea attacker Pedro he said: “You can train hard at home but that’s nothing compared to the rhythm at the highest level.” Spain international Pedro told his clubs website that: “We don’t know what impact this suspension will have.
“A lot of clubs have now been apart for many days, so it’s going to be difficult to get match fit. “I imagine there would have to be a short pre-season and then we’d probably quickly get on to the remaining games to try to complete the season, but only if possible as there is a lot of talk that some leagues might be able to finish and others won’t.”
“It’s hard not to be seeing your children, your parents, your siblings – not having them close by at a complicated, difficult time for us all,” he said. “We are in permanent contact on the phone, keeping in touch about what we are up to in isolation and trying to be as close as possible.”
“I belong to Chelsea. My wish is to be able to stay here, but obviously we don’t know what will happen,” Pedro said. The player is yet to discuss his contract extension which he is likely to leave the club in the next transfer window.
The player was talking about how the coronavirus has affected team play which is very key in every team. English Premier League clubs are to meet on the 3rd of April which is few days from now, they will be meeting to decide whether or not to extend the resumption date again.
And should the date be shifted again it will affect the normal plan of the English Football (FA) thereby affecting the plans of Pre-season games.
The Pre-season games are supposed to come some months before the official kick off of the league with the official That could take it past the official end of the English Football League season and towards the last round of Premier League fixtures, which was supposed to be on 17 May.
