Ex-Liverpool and Senegal striker El-Hadji Diouf has picked Austin Jay Jay Okocha over Chelsea and Ivorian striker Didier Drogba and Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o. according to the former Liverpool and Bolton Wanderers striker, he said Jay Jay Okacha is the most talented player in African.
El-Hadji Diouf and Austin Jay Jay Okocha were teammates at Bolton Wanderers between 2004 and 2006 English Premier League season. El-Hadji Diouf said even though Jay-Jay Okocha never won the African player of the year award, he said no one can argue that he is the most talented African footballer of all-time.
The Senegalese football legend El-Hadji Diouf also said the former Nigerian international Austin Jay Jay Okocha is the best football player Africa has ever produced, he rates him as the most talented footballer to come out of Africa. Austin Jay Jay Okocha during his playing time as a professional football never won any major title like the likes of Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto’o, but Diouf insists Okocha is the best footballer to come from Africa.
Speaking some sports journalists El-Hadji Diouf said: “Today I respect what they [Drogba and Eto’o] have achieved in football and I will always defend them.” “The most talented of African footballers, who have played the game on the continent, since I was born, is Jay Jay Okocha.
“To be talented doesn’t necessarily mean that you are the best or have won the most titles in your career, we’ll always have people who will win more trophies and I respect that.” “He is the most talented player that I have ever seen,” he concluded. He also said “Jay Jay Okocha did not win as many trophies as the others, he did not win the Golden Ball but no one can argue that he is the most talented African footballer of all times.”
El hadji Diouf won the African player of the year award twice during his playing time as a professional footballer. The super Eagles captain was crown African Player of decades after his retirement from professional football, the tittle was sure a dissevered one.
