Real Madrid and Spanish fullback Dani Carvajal have revealed that he’s shocked to see Barcelona struggle for points this season. The player, however, insisted that their rival Barcelonan is still a title threat under their new head coach Xavi.
Dani Carvajal Says Barca is Still a Title Contender Uner Xavi
According to Dani Carvajal, he said: “When [Zinedine] Zidane arrived, we were 12 points behind Barcelona, and we finished one point behind them, pushing them until the final game,” he said. He also said: “The arrival of a figure like Xavi for Barcelona is going to fill them with hope. Although he is a rival, I wish him all the luck in the world, [but] not against us [laughs].”
Carvajal is not the only person who has said this, as Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has also said. We are surprised to see Barcelona so far behind [in the title race], but nobody can rule them out for any trophy.
Respect is essential. The return of Xavi to the team will surely bring the club to where it used to be before now.
The new manager has already started his reign as he has introduced six new locker room rules to help rejuvenate the club. Their next game will come after the international break against their local rivals Espanyol.
