Cristiano Ronaldo’s twin bodyguards were reportedly investigated in Portugal for working illegally for the Manchester United striker. The two brothers Sergio and Jorge Ramalheiro previously served in an elite special forces unit in Afghanistan. They are on unpaid leave from the Portuguese police while carrying out private security for the Manchester United striker.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s Bodyguards Sergio and Jorge Ramalheiro Under Investigation
According to reports, it is illegal to work in Portugal during their leave period without permission from the force. The pair could even go on trial to provide unauthorised close protection and face disciplinary proceedings when they return to the Public Security Police force.
The two bodyguards were placed under investigation after they were seen on two occasions working for Cristiano Ronaldo in Lisbon while on their leave. It was reported that they were carrying out private security without a police licence which is against their law, and they could be jailed for five years.
People who hire unlicensed bodyguards can also face prosecution in Portugal, but it is not reported if Ronaldo could face any case as there is no case against him yet. A force spokesman said: “We do not comment on cases under investigation.”
One among the two bodyguards was also spotted last month at a birthday party organised by the player’s pregnant girlfriend, Georgia Rodriguez.
