Club Bruges who are currently topping their league will be crowned the league champions with their league been canceled due to coronavirus. they are topping the Belgian League with 15 points and have played 29 games like every other club in the Belgian league.
The league’s board of directors met and made the decision recently, they concluded that the league title should be given to Club Bruges. The has already reached an agreement and they will be given the trophy on the 15th of this month April.
It will be made official on 15 April with a working group to decide relegation and promotion issues. Club Bruges are 15 points clear of second-placed Gent at the top of the table. In a statement, the league said: “The board of directors unanimously decided that it was not desirable, whatever the scenario envisaged, to continue the competition after 30 June.”
Football fans are now on the opinion that the same thing should apply for the English Premier League which Liverpool are currently topping with 25 points. Liverpool have not won the league for over 30 years now and they have been very impressive in the league this season and fans are on the opinion to give them the league title with continue coronavirus cases.
