Chelsea scored two late goals to go top of the English Premier League and bounce back from two consecutive defeats. They beat ten men Southampton 3-1 to move top of the Premier League. Timo Werner and Ben Chilwell scored the late goals after Saints had been reduced to 10 men following the dismissal of captain James Ward-Prowse for a poor challenge on Jorginho.

Academy product Trevoh Chalobah scored his second goal for Chelsea as he opened the scoring in the first ten minutes for the home side. A dominant Chelsea had the ball in the net on two further occasions in the first half, however Romelu Lukaku was flagged offside and Werner’s header was ruled out as VAR checked, it discovered that they was a foul by Cesar Azpilicueta on Kyle Walker-Peters in the build-up.

Chelsea he only lost two matches this season, they lost to Juventus and English Premier League defending champions Manchester City. This win is a comeback for both the manager and the team as a whole.
