Carles Tusquets Backs Ronald Koeman
Barcelona interim president Carles Tusquets says he will not consider sacking Ronald Koeman despite the team’s inconsistency and continues dropping of points in the 2020/21 Spanish La Liga season.
Barcelona was held to a 2-2 draw by Valencia on Saturday night although Lionel Messi matches the record of soccer legend John Pele with his goal in the 2-2 draw.

The result further put Koeman under pressure, but Carles Tusquets has come to publicly back the Dutchman. He spoke to Mundo Deportivo, saying: “I will not fire anyone, at all. [Ronald] Koeman is doing well, he has great criteria, he bets on the youth system and young players.
Carles Tusquets also said: “He absolutely has my support and he will always have it. I’ve eaten with him recently and I found him to be optimistic. When the stadium is reopened it will not be very difficult to recover this club, not in the economic sphere and I hope not in the sporting sphere.”
“Barcelona is betting on a new generation of players, which suits the club right now as we are in the midst of a change of cycle.” Barcelona will face struggling Real Valladolid in their next game which is a midweek game before they host Eibar in La Liga after Christmas.
