Caglar Soyuncu’s injury a Big Blow to the Team, Brendan Rodgers Cries Out
Leicester City and Turkish defender Caglar Soyuncu could be out for three months with an abductor injury according to the head coach of the club Brendan Rodgers. The 24-year-old centre-back missed their Sunday clash which 1-0 in favour of Aston Villa with Ross Barkley scoring the only goal in the game.
Caglar Soyuncu picked up a groin injury during his international duty with Turkey. He had started the Foxes’ four previous Premier League matches and played 34 of 38 league games last season. Brenden Rodgers said the Turkish international would be a “big miss” for them. “The muscle is right off the bone, so he could be up to three months, which is an absolute shame for him.”
Leicester City has been without some key players in their team, the likes of right-back Ricardo Pereira has been out since March because of a knee injury, and midfielder Wilfred Ndidi was ruled out for up to 12 weeks last month. But the calf injury that kept striker Jamie Vardy out of the 1-0 loss to Villa is not serious and the former England international could return to face Arsenal on Sunday.
