Lionel Messi has come out to criticize the current Barcelona sporting director in the person of Eric Abidal. The South American made the criticism in an interview with Spanish newspaper Diario Sport.
Lionel Messi and Eric Abidal were former team-mates but the recent interview with Messi has shown that he is not happy with him. Eric Abidal was made the sporting director of the club after his retirement. Messi made a comment in an interview and it since raised questions of if the players are still together with management.

The six-times Ballon d’Or winner (Lionel Messi) is like the bridge between the players and the management since he is the skipper of the club. Messi on Tuesday, responded to comments made by the sporting Director. He said: “When you talk about players, you have to give names because if not, it gives air to things which are not true.”
Eric Abidal hadearlier in an interview said: “Many players weren’t satisfied or working hard and there was also an internal communication problem. “The relationship between the coach and the dressing room has always been good but there are things as an ex-player that I could smell. I told the club what I thought and we reached a decision [on Valverde].”

Lionel Messi, 32 said in his Instagram page “sincerely, I don’t like to do these things but I think that people have to be responsible for their jobs and own their decisions.
“The players [are responsible] for what happens on the pitch and we are the first to admit when we haven’t been good. The heads of the sports department have to take their responsibilities too and above all own the decisions they make.”
Could this be the beginning of the fall of the La Liga Champions? Can they be able to fix the fallen bridge between the players and the management? We will get answers to these questions in the next game which comes up tomorrow.
