Everton and Brazilian winger Bernard has joined United Arab Emirates club Sharjah FC on a two-year deal. The 28-year-old Brazilian international linked up with Everton from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2018.

The Brazilian international made 73 Premier League appearances in three seasons, scoring five goals. He thanked fans and players who were with me. Bernard said, “you don’t know half of what happens behind the scenes”.
Last summer, he said he had been seeing a psychologist for a year after an anxiety attack. In a social media post, he added: “Since I arrived [at Everton], I was always well received and treated as if I was a member of the family.
The south American thanked people who supported him during his hard times. He said the message he is leaving with the club is one of gratitude, and the fans will always be special to him.
