Investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has rubbished claims by Nigerian Minister for Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed to shutdown the ongoing Big Brother Naija Reality Show.
Lai Mohammed has called upon the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), to stop the show, using COVID-19 as the reason to shutdown the reality TV show.
It was reported that the minister wants the show’s producer, MultiChoice, out of the country. The Cable TV has since reached out to the minister but he hasn’t been picking calls or replying messages according to reports.
Kemi Olunloyo Blasts Lai Mohammed
Nigerian investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo via her social media platforms has condemned the move made by Alhaji Lai Mohammed to stop Big Brother Naija Reality show.
Dr. Kemi in her tweet said the show isn’t going off air and that the minister have no right to cut the program that keeps youth in front of TV when they have not been given stimulus money.
She stressed that public places such as schools, bars, clubs and business places where the youths can work and make money are closed and that shutting down the show would increase crime.
She then called the minister as she tweeted @KemiOlunloyo ”How dare you tell the NBC to shutdown #bbnaija over #covid19?”
Kemi Olunloyo in another tweet urged the minister to focus his energy on the looting in government.
