German Bundesliga side Bayern Munich lifted the 2019/20 Uefa Champions League trophy after six years without lifting the trophy. After the game which ended 1-0 in favour of the German side, the head coach of Bayern Munich Hansi Flick came out to lash praises on their shot-stopper, Manuel Neuer, for his huge influence which contributed in his side’s Champions League final win against the French side Paris Saint-Germain.

The German side last won the Uefa Champions League in 2013, German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was very impressive as he made good saves to stop PSG from taking the lead in a game where they had been second best. The Bayern skipper made a double save from Neymar before stopping a Kylian Mbappe’s low strike from crippling in late in the first half.

Former Paris Saint Germain winger Kingsley Coman was the hero of the day the as the went into the first-half in a stalemate, he converted Joshua Kimmich’s cross through a header to seal the victory for the Germans. This victory is their second treble and sixth Champions League title.

Commenting on Neuer’s performance, Flick said: “It was a high-tempo, high-octane match with chances at both ends. We have the best goalkeeper in the world in Manuel Neuer and he kept us in the match in certain instances.” Flick praised his backline for managing to contain PSG’s dangerous trio, Neymar, Mbappe and Angel Di Maria.

“What was great was how the team played as a lot of people wondered how Bayern would defend against their impressive front line. I think we did a very good job on that score. We had a good attitude out there through the team that was great to see. “We really make life difficult for the opposition. When you think how we worked defensively until the 92nd minute. Robert Lewandowski was chasing after the ball, that was incredible. It was a complete team performance.”

The goal scorer for the Germans Kingsley Coman said: “Perhaps he’s finally stepped out of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben’s shadow this season. Kingsley has incredible talent and he showed tonight that he can also score goals. “I’ve not set a deadline for when the party has to stop. It’s only right to celebrate when you win something. You have to have a party and I don’t know when that party will end.”
