Atalanta beat defending champions of the Coppa Italia Napoli to book a final place ticket with the Italian Seria A Juventus’s defending champions. They did well well to beat Napoli in the semi-final game 3-1.
Atalanta and Napoli played out a goalless draw in the first leg, but Duvan Zapata ensured his side need not go to the penalty to decide who plays with Juventus who are already in the finals.
Duvan Zapata scored in the first ten minutes of the game before setting up Matteo Pessina for the second goal six minutes later. Napoli not willing to give up without a fight scored in the second half of the game.
Hirving Lozano scored the goal for Napoli to bring them back into the game, but it was only a consolation goal as Pessina scored his brace and increased the scores to 3-1 in the 78th minute of the game.
Atalanta Eyes Glory Days
Atalanta has been in great this season and can surely win this season’s own. They lost the 2018/19 final to Lazio, and they have only won one major trophy in their history.
They have been one of the top sides in Italy of late both in their domestic and European tournaments. They reached the Uefa Champions League quarter-finals last season and were the last Italian team to leave the competition.
