Arsenal and Egypt midfielder Mohamed Elneny has tested positive for coronavirus while on international duty. The Egyptian Football Association made the infornation known on their official page.
The 28-year-old is not showing any symptoms but tested positive on arrival in Togo. Egypt will be playing their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier later today against Togo. He was confirmed positive after the test conducted on all the players on arrival.
English Premier League announced 16 positive results from 1,207 players and club staff tested for coronavirus. Players and staff were tested between 9th and 15th November. Those players and staff who tested positive will self-isolate for 10 days.
Elneny’s result comes after his Egypt team-mate, Mohamed Salah tested positive for coronavirus. Elneny has featured 11 times for Arsenal in all competitions this season.
