Antonio Conte face Sack After 2:2 Draw AS Roma
The nightmare for from former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has continued as his side’s performance continues to drop. AS Roma scored a late equaliser to leave Inter Milan three points adrift of leaders AC Milan at the top of Serie A in their Sunday clash.
Gianluca Mancini gave the home team the opener through a fine header from Gonzalo Villar’s cross to earn Roma a point four minutes from the end. Two goals in seven second-half minutes – Milan Skriniar’s header and Achraf Hakimi’s exquisite curler – had turned the game to Antonio Conte’s favour.
But Mancini’s late leveller kept third-placed AS Roma three points behind Inter. Roma’s half-time lead was slightly fortuitous as Pellegrini’s 20-yard shot deflected off Alessandro Bastoni to leave Samir Handanovic with no chance in the Inter goal.
Pau Lopez preserved Roma’s lead in the face of intense Inter Milan pressure with two superb point-blank saves to thwart Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.
Skriniar headed in Marcelo Brozovic’s cross and Hakimi curled in off the bar as the visitors’ persistence paid off but Antonio Conte’s side were denied all three points as Mancini rewarded Roma’s late rally as the game ended 2:2.
Early this season Antonio Conte was questioned about his job because of how they dropped points and handed Juventus their ninth successive Italian Serie A title.
They have not been doing well this season as they were knocked out of both the UEFA Champions League and the Europa League. Questions are now that if Inter Milan management will still give him chance to continue and make amends?
