Mac Imoni Amarere, Executive Director, Africa Independent Television, AIT, would be thanking God now for saving his life from the hands of armed robbers that attacked his vehicle at a traffic stop in Asokoro, Abuja.
The mother company, DAAR Communications Plc, revealed the information to the public yesterday after the tragic incident that led to both an attack and robbery of his valuable belongings.
The host of the television show – Peoples, Politics and Power, AIT Executive Director, Imoni Amarere, was faced with that terrible incident in the same area, Asokoro Community Staff School, a facility owned and managed by DSS, near where his office is located.
According to DAAR Communications Plc Abuja chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, they issued a statement tagged: ‘Abuja Increasing Insecurity: Amarere Attacked and Robbed at Traffic Light Stop.’
“Fortunately, there’s no bodily injury but he lost some valuables to the miscreants, and his driver sustained minor injuries. Colleagues are encouraged to be more vigilant as we obey traffic lights in the City Centre, especially at night.” The statement read in parts.
