Lionel Messi seems to have found his home place as he can’t just stop scoring in his new club Inter Miami. The seven times Ballon d’Or winner scored his eighth goal in five games for his new club Inter Miami as they rolled over Charlotte 4-0 in the Leagues Cup quarter-finals. The World Cup winner was having a quiet game in Florida before scoring Miami’s fourth goal in the 86 minute of the game.
Lionel Messi Scores Eight Goals in Five Matches
Inter Miami were winless in 11 games before Lionel Messi arrived but since his arrival they have won five games in a row. They will face Philadelphia Union in the semi-finals later next week Tuesday. Inter Miami took the lead in the 12th minute through a Josef Martinez penalty and doubled their advantage in the first half when Robert Taylor put away a low cross from former Newcastle United man DeAndre Yedlin.
Charlotte fell behind further after the break when Diego Gomez’s cross looking for Messi was turned into his own net by defender Adilson Malanda. The former Barcelona and Paris St-Germain forward then scores the last goal of the game.
Messi has now set new record in the world of football as he is the first player to score eight goals in his first five games in the world of football. The Argentine star just can’t stop scoring and he is currently the highest goal scorer in the tournament and he did that in just five games.
