Unai Emery Appointed as Villarreal Boss
Former Arsenal and Paris Saint-German manager Unai Emery has been appointed as the new Villarreal manager, he was given a three-year contract earlier today. The 48-year-old Spaniard succeeds Javi Calleja, who left the club despite finishing n the Europa League spot (fifth-place position).
Unai Emery will be the one to lead the team to next year’s Europa League, he was sacked from the English Premier League after failing to help the team get any good position some times back late last year, he was able to take Arsenal to the Europa League final but lost to Chelsea.
Unai Emery also managed French top side Paris Saint-German, it was after he was sacked that Arsenal signed him. The Spanish man has been without a club since he left Arsenal. Villarreal who did well to in the just-concluded 2019/20 Spanish La Liga season which Real Madrid won, has been appointed as the new coach of the club. Before now he has managed Sevilla and Valencia in the Spanish top flight, so now is a welcome back to the former Arsenal boss
