American rapper and music producer, Travis Scott, made his first statement since the Astroworld Festival disaster in Houston.
Scot reacting to the tragedy where eight were killed, spoke out in a video he posted on his Instagram page on Saturday night.
Scot, showing empathy, said, “I’m honestly just devastated,“ He continued by saying they are working relentlessly to identify the families so they can help assist them through this tough time.
The tragedy has caused reactions criticizing the rapper and organizers for the attitude displayed towards the victims during the concert.
Astroworld Concert Tragedy
A video source from the concert showed Scott pausing his performance and looking on in confusion as an ambulance pulled into the crowd before the concert ended.
The Astroworld concert organizers said in the statement released on Saturday that “Our hearts are with the Astroworld festival family tonight, especially those we lost and their loved ones,” reiterating that they are also ready to help local authorities with their investigations.
Scot shares his condolences with the families and all those affected by what happened at the Festival, and he said, “Houston PD has my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life.”
A law firm in Texas has confirmed that Scot has been sued for “inciting mayhem”. He was sued by a 23-year-old Kristian Paredes who got injured in the stampede.
