Town Planners in Nasarawa State has called on the government to consider the speedy passage and implementation of laws that support the growth of economic activities in the region.
Under the auspices of Nigeria Institute of Town Planners, Nasarawa State, yesterday, the planners carried out the advocation exercise during a visit to the state House Committee Chairman on Urban and Regional Planning in Lafia, the state capital.
Speaking on behalf of the state’s group was the Chairman of the Institute, Dr Adamu Daniel. He stressed that since the previous administration signed the Nasarawa Urban and Town Planning Law, the government had not taken any proactive steps for its implementation.

According to the Chairman of the Institute, Dr Adamu Danie said, this measure had already considered the enormous economic potentials the state stands to gain if the state government decides to enforce the law.
He stated the Nigeria Institute of Town Planning was ready to collaborate with the state House of Assembly to ensure full implementation of regional and urban development laws in the state.
